Sydney Taylor Hathaway's Obituary



Sydney Taylor Hathaway, 19, of Beaumont, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013, in Fort Stockton. She was born on April 25, 1994, in Dayton, Ohio, to Celeste Ann Garcia Hathaway and Patrick Travis Hathaway, and had been a longtime resident of the area. 
Sydney was an incredible, bright, young lady with a great sense of humor. She enjoyed acting and music and used these talents to lift others and makes them laugh. She quickly earned the trust and respect of all she met and went out of her way to meet their needs. Sydney was a Marriot scholarship recipient and had completed her freshman year at Southern Virginia University. 
Sydney lived a Christ centered life and had the desire to share her knowledge and love of the Savior with everyone. She recently received a call to serve a full time mission in Brazil, Fortaleza East; August 21, 2013. She will be sorely missed but her example will continue to touch the lives of those who knew her. 
Sydney is survived by her parents, Celeste and Patrick Hathaway of Beaumont; sister, Jori Zimmerman Hathaway and husband, Zachary, of Beaumont; brother, Jaron Hathaway; and sisters, Sierra, Haley, and Savannah Hathaway; and brother, Hayden Hathaway, all of Beaumont; paternal grandmother, Beverly Jane West Hathaway of Dallas; and maternal grandparents, Barbara and Frederick Garcia of Hamilton, Ohio. 
A gathering of Sydney's family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service to follow at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7785 Weaver Drive, Beaumont. Interment will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Missionary Fund, 7785 Weaver Drive, Beaumont, Texas 77706.   1. I had a very short time to spend with the Hathaway Family, but I still hold them all in my heart. I am very sad to hear about the accident. My heart goes out to ALL family and friends.
